Step 1

Identify your product or service.

You should know the Federal Supply Classification (FSC) code and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for your product or service. FSC or NAICS codes are used to identify most government procurement opportunities.

Note: Since October 1, 2000, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has determined small business size standards for industries for all Federal Government programs based on the standards as described in the NAICS. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes no longer apply.
