Free Organizational Development and Grant Writing Training At CLC, June 28 and 29A free two-day organizational development and grant writing workshop will be offered at the College of Lake County on June 28-29. Trainers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will provide information on how to become more competitive for federal, corporate and foundation grant funds. The training includes helpful information on the organizational structure necessary to secure public and private funds. The workshop is co-sponsored by the College of Lake County Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). Workshop topics will include organizational capacity building, the ten commandments of grant writing, how to access government funds, working with local governments, HUD programs available to nonprofits, HUD common factors for award, coalition building and tips for effective grant writing. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the workshops running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required at the following Web site: http://www.hud.gov/event_registration/index_2.cfm?eventID=243.
